More About Persistor Instruments
Peripheral Issues formed in 1995 to provide designers and researchers with cost effective and reliable tools to simplify the difficult process of developing low power computer based instrumentation. Our Persistor CompactFlash add-on boards and PicoDOS operating system were so well received that we renamed the company to Persistor Instruments Inc. when our steady growth made it time to incorporate in 1998. At the same time and with increasing demand for our Persistor CF1 product, we moved from our incubation site in North Falmouth, Massachussetts to the new headquarters in Bourne, Massachusetts. The surprise demise in late 2000 of the Motorola 68338 used in the CF1 forced a major holdoff to other product introductions while we scrambled to provide continuity for our existing customers with a near drop-in replacement CF2 based on the near-twin 68332. We told everyone about the impending switch and stockpiled enough 68338s to keep everybody happy. To our own surprise, we continued to see our sales grow and in mid-2001 doubled the size of the Bourne facility to keep pace.
