The original Persistor CF1 was based on Motorola's MC68CK338, which Motorola discontinued in February 2001.

Persistor stands proudly on the exceptional product support offered to CF1 customers. First, the CF2 was introduced as a footprint compatible replacement with as much functional equality as possible. Second, CF1 customers were given an opportunity to reserve as many CF1s as desired for a refundable fee of only $15 each. Third, Persistor continues to procure 68338s in original factory sealed packaging from broker distributors to this day, assuring continued CF1 inventory for those customers who were unable to make a transition to the CF2, or just haven't gotten around to it yet.
