OES UART4 & UART4S

Two add-on boards providing UART expansion are offered by Oceanographic Embedded Systems.

The UART4 is an add-on board for the CF1 or CF2 utilizing a StarTech 16C654D quad UART and a Maxim MAX3243 RS232 driver. The 3” X 5” base board additionally provides a backup battery for the CF1 real time clock, large screw terminals, and a small prototyping area. The primary uart supports a serial connection compatible with the Persistor communication cable (CAB-COM-RCPDAQ).

UART4

The U4S is a smaller 2" X 3" UART expansion board with pass through connectors for a stacked group of add-on boards. This board uses a Maxim MAX 560 to allow for 4 inputs and 4 outputs. An optional RS-485 driver can be installed.
