16-bit A/D RecipeCard
with RS232 driver for Two Auxilliary TPU UARTs
Persistor® R216AU

The R216AU prototyping board is supplied with a power cable and the primary SCI communication cable. One cable for an auxiliary TPU UART channel is also included.
The R216AU is built on the same printed circuit board as our R212, but instead we have installed the Texas Instruments ADS8344 16 bit, 8 channel A/D converter and a Maxim RS232 driver for two TPU UARTs. Also installed are an LED and three buttons for RESET, PBM and WAKE

All the example A/D code supplied on the PicoDEV CD can be switched in the header files to work with the ADS8344. PicoDAQ (a command line data logging program) will work with the ADS8344 as well. This A/D is hard wired to a Linear Tech 2.5 volt reference.

Example code is also included for driving the TPUs as UARTS. Drivers have been developed which allow the user to easily 'open' TPU pairs as UART channels and select baud rates, and other parameters. The TPU channels used for the auxiliary UARTs can be disconnected from the circuit for other use if desired.

As with all Persistor RecipeCards, part lists and schematics are published in the data sheet so the user can reproduce circuits on their own printed circuit boards.
